One of the most fundamental role models any child can have, aside from their mother, is their father.

Imagine for a minute, there's a little boy without his daddy. He sees his mother, but can hardly relate with her, physically or even emotionally. Imagine this little boy going through life not understanding his true identity as a male. He grows up into a broken man; not ever learning about commitment, providing for his family, loving his wife, and having compassion over the tiniest creatures that his father could have taught him.

Picture a little girl walking in the middle of a cold forest. Ravaging wolves are secretly waiting for her behind dark trees to devour her when she least expects. This is how it's like when a young girl grows up without a father figure. She doesn't know boundaries as she looks for love in the wrong places.

Dads 4 Life is a 501 c3 organization that teaches divorced fathers how to stay involved in their children's lives. Today, we help dads enrich their lives and enhance them to be the best dads that they can possibly be for their greatest asset, their children.

Growing Up with A Father Figure

It is said that young children with a fatherly mentor grow up to be better productive citizens than children who grow up without one. 46% of children grow up avoiding drug problems. 53% of students are less likely to skip on their education. As they are more present in schools, they are more likely to increase their grades by 59%. 33% of males are less likely to result in violent crimes.

The opportunity of having a child be raised by his or her father results in favorable measures for all of us in our communities.

What Happens When A Child Grows Up Fatherless?

We can see a devastating change happening in our cities. It's obvious that not every child growing up without a father ends up in one of these predicaments. But, the risks are higher.

About 83% grow up to be violent criminals and enter the prison system, to which the majority of this number involves boys. 71% are high school drop outs. Fatherless children are at the risk of becoming suicidal (63%) more often than children with active fathers.

How will we do it?

It is not a matter of how, but we are doing it. Dads 4 Life has been active since 2006. We exist to provide fathers of all ages, races, religion or cultures the support, education and information to enhance their lives and change the future of our nation. We teach fathers to stay involved in their children’s lives. We help fathers understand their role in society, responsibilities, and ownership of being a valuable father-figure.

We have established support programs and continued training on various topics in life such as finances, leaving a legacy to your children and the importance of continued education. We are also involved in the Parent Project which is not only focused on fathers, but on general parenting skills. Our programs reinforce the strong commitment to community, family and church involvement … we include family events, conferences and keynote addresses. One of our goals is to partner with other men and fathering organizations in an effort to reach and do more than we can by standing alone.
